A good start to the new year

Happy New Year to you all.  I hope 2012 brings you many wonderful things.

I've spent a very nice few days catching up on my stitching.  I started a new design but have to wait for some more 801 to arrive before I can finish it off.  This design has been in planning for a long time.  The original idea was to do a large cherry tree full of blossoms and treasures, however I decided that this was too large a project for a novice designer so it got much simplified to a branch of blossoms and just a few treasures.

I had planned to start it a few weeks ago, but perhaps this may be an auspicious start to the new year.  Perhaps this bottomless purse will help me support my JE habit!

The scrolls represent my love of books and knowledge and my wish to continue to learn into the new year and beyond.

This gold weight represents the 'wealth' that I have gained along the road of Nuido.  The wealth of the friends I have made along the path, friends across the world who are joined  together in our love and passion for Japanese embroidery.

For those of you who may not know, we have a little group of embroiderers who specialise in Japanese embroidery over on Stitchin Fingers where we support each other and share thoughts and ideas, if you aren't already a member please join us in 2012.

This piece isn't very large at all, and is quite simple to stitch so it is growing very quickly, once the new white silk arrives I expect to have it finished in a week or two.
